A bungling burglar who got himself stuck in a second-story bathroom window during an attempted break-in has been jailed.
Police in Radcliffe, near Manchester in northern England, arrived on the scene in December 2016 to find Sean Crawshaw suspended 15 feet above the ground.
The 47-year-olds head was firmly wedged inside the small window, his knees were placed on the sill and his legs were dangling below:
Police called fire crews, who took20 minutes to extricateCrawshaw from his predicament, reports the Manchester Evening News.He injured his ear as he was being set free.
Crawshaw was charged with burglary with intent. He pleaded guilty at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester on Jan. 16. A judge jailed him for two years and five months.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) released photographs of the incident on Thursday. It was nice of him to hang around, GMP sergeant Richard Garland told the BBC. He was actually cautioned as he was in mid-air.
Garland did, however, recognize the seriousness of the crime.
We did all have a chuckle about it later but the homeowner was actually pretty shaken up about it all, he said. Its not nice having someone burgle your home and then finding them still there.
